LC475 backward ram socket

I have a tall 128mb simm in my 475 that conflicts with a processor upgrade card. There would be a lot of room if the ram socket leaned away from the processor- are there sockets that lean the opposite direction?

I can’t resolder existing socket backwards, pins would be reversed.

There used to be, no idea if they still make 'em.

That said, you're so far beyond the point of diminishing returns at this point that I personally probably wouldn't bother trying to find one.

I just ran into the same issue. An extra-tall IBM 128M simm leans way over the CPU and prevents installation of a heat sink. There are a couple of vendors who offer a standard-height 128M part at reasonable prices (~ 30-40 USD) and I'll probably go in that direction.

Yeah, I think I got my 128MB SIMM that was specifically designed for "angled" sockets. Looking at my SIMM, the side that is angled towards the motherboard has much smaller (thinner) chips.

Here is the link to the SIMM I bought from Amazon. I first made the mistake of buying a non-angled SIMM. So I returned to Amazon and re-purchased the angled one. Unfortunately it looks like they are sold out.

Finding lower profile ram sound like the better solution, but I can’t find any. As to why expand to 128mb at all- it’s all about the challenge of maxing out this pizza box.
