I have an SE 30, a Color Classic and an AppleCD that are in need of repair. The SE/30 audio is barely audible. I see leakage around the sound chip area probably from the caps. I suspect that is the root issue. The AppleCD worked about a year ago, but now just causes the Mac to just boot to gray screen and cursor. I suspect something up with the SCSI interface. Cables and terminators were swapped out. The CC CRT just started to go. The brightness is off the chart, so currently I have them turned all the way down via the System 7 Control Panel option.

SE/30 definitely sounds like it needs to get cleaned up and recapped. The sooner the better on that one. As for the CC, if all that's happening is the brightness is too high, that sounds to me like an adjustment issue. That part you should be able to do on your own. Just google for the service manual and you should find what you need.
