Is there a replacement for the IWM (344-0041-B) or information about its communication protocol?

I'd like to rebuild it (e.g., using an MCU or FPGA) to fix the IWM issue on MacPlus.Currently, all I can find is information about the Apple II's 343-0041-B, but not the complete communication protocol.Any help would be appreciated.
