Interware Booster 30-50F

Hey,
Hey there! I just found one of these in a Color Classic 2 I got from Japan. I noticed you have the 1.1.2 chip there. Mine has the 1.1.1. Is there a way to make a duplicate of that socketed ROM possibly? And also wondering if the Color Classic version might work with an SE/30?
I am on holiday until the end of next week. Then once home I guess it’s finally time to unpack that eprom reader/writer and see how it works…

Mine has a 1.1.2 chip as well. Happy to create a bin from the ROM but need to get my 866 reader installed and figure out how to do this again 😄

Hope you’re not in a rush…

Back home and reading the messages on a wider screen I just figured out that your message @nottomhanks was not for me :D my ROM is 1.1.1 as shown in the pics I posted years ago... If anyone else ( @mousehouse ?) is able to dump the content of a 1.1.2 ROM , that will be useful for me too, I guess!

Yeah, I would like to know the different between the two. Does anyone here happen to know that information?

Do you think it's possible to plug in the CL 40-40 into Bolle's adapter? Or will that cause major problems? It would be awesome if you could use this with an SE/30 to speed it up!!

@patatas -Unfortunately, I got rid of the card a few years ago now. Although I might have copied the firmware; I'll check when I get back home.

I have a CV40 that I can dump the ROM from. Is there a app that allows me to do that when the card is installed in my Mac? I'd prefer that over extracting the EEPROM from the brittle plastic socket...

OK - step 1 completed. Managed to get the EEPROM off witghout destroying the card...

Does anybody know the EEPROM type used? Mine still has the sticker on it that I would like to keep on. Forgot how to use Xgpro to check the type, sorry...

Updates... I messed around a bit and read EEPROM ID 0x2005 back from it. Could be an ST 27C1001.

Attached the 128KB ROM dump... let me know if this works!

If you read it with ID check on and got no errors, then it should indeed be that chip.
A 27C1001/27C010 (same ROM, different numbering system) would make sense, I can't imagine it'd be much larger than that.

Dump looks good, and not scrambled at that.

Looks like it probably overrides the initial SP/PC loaded by the 040 at boot? There's a plausible SP and PC, that PC would indicate the ROM is mapped at 0x52600000 and points to a routine that immediately plays with cache and MMU registers (expected for an 040). In a bit of code further along, it also checks for the IIci ROM checksum. Not quite clear what happens when not present.

Further discussion on this card and any reverse engineering probably should take place in another topic, however :)
