Internal SCSI Extension cable?

I am doing a bit of modification to the inside of my Color Classic trying to fit a SSD solution. I need a move things around a little and I need a cable that can extend a 50 pin internal SCSI ribbon cable.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I don't know about extending the existing cable, but it might just be simpler to get a longer one instead.

There were some PCs and Mac clones which used multi-device cables, and those are pretty long in some machines.

You could also get one out of a Quadra 900/950, or perhaps a Mac II.

I hope this helps. I don't really have any other ideas, unfortunately.

Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Or get a couple of crimp IDC connectors and some ribbon cable, and make one up to the desired length. If you don't have a proper crimping tool, a bench vise will do the job. Pliers even, if you're desperate. I did it with my teeth once, but I don't recommend that approach.

In that case, just get the IDC-50 male and lop off a redundant internal SCSI cable.

The ready-made cable is by far the most convenient. If not quite the most economical solution at $8.95, it's not far off. Even a single IDC-50M will be likely be a couple of bucks shipped.
