Hi,
According to Scott Baret's CRT Guide, the two aren't interchangeable. However, he doesn't seem to go into a great amount of detail, other than there are two connector types (A and B) , and that they are incompatible with one another.
What I am wondering is... can one take a Type B connector and simply solder it in place of a Type A, ore is there some PCB-level incompatibility, such as different pin spacing or wiring configuration, which would prevent this?
The reason I'm asking this is because I have recently gotten a new analog board for my Classic II, but it is a rev. A board (which therefore means Type A connector). I'd like to be able to use the existing CRT yoke (with a Type B plug) if I can, so I am going to try attempting modifications to the a/b to make it be compatible, if it's feasible.
Thanks in advance!
