I helped my father in law with an iMac upgrade and transferred all his info (his 5th Mac: LCII, Beige PM G3, Snow iMac G3, Intel iMac, now a 21.5" iMac), and he gave me his old one. 
It's got the vertical line issue, but still usable. I'm going to upgrade the RAM and use it for my Logic/Mainstage rig. Gots to love free stuff!
