I recently tried upgrading the ram in my iMac G5 iSight 20" with a 1 gig stick of ddr2. The stick had a heatsink on it which I took off for my limited testing. After I put the ram in and turned on the computer, it beeped three times and showed no video. I think three beeps means a ram issue. I assumed that the stick was bad and took it out. When I powered it on without the stick, it still beeped. reinserting the stick did not help. I have tried multiple smu resets to no avail (Maybe I'm doing it wrong?) and nothing I try seems to do anything. I can't see any damage near the ram slot, nor do I think I would've damaged it when inserting the stick. How can I fix it?
