Imac g5 1.6

So I picked up a first gen imac g5 1.6ghz. Had no hard drive so put a 60 gig ssd in it. I turned on and first got a earth globe looking icon. After a few minutes the flashing question mark. I was able to boot from install media and install onto ssd. Everything works good except sound, and no start up chime. I also can’t do a pram reset or open firmware. Any ideas?? Works fine otherwise. Cap’s didn’t look bulgy or nasty either, but will probably recap it at some point.

So head phones not working either. Under system info it shows this. Other than that, it all looks like it should work??

Is there a red light coming out the headphone port? And, does the volume control let you adjust the volume or just say it's using digital output?

If so, it thinks there's a TOSLINK cable connected, you may need to clean the connector or spritz it with some compressed air. (or, if you have an amp or set of speakers that accepts digital input, just use those.)

The G5 iMacs I worked on you could see the large caps bulging and that was a long time ago so maybe somebody recapped it before you got it.
