How to evaluate SE/30 Motherboard

I've got several SE/30's laying around, I want to build the best frankenstein I can.

How do I evaluate or determine the best motherboard out of the batch?

Thanks

Define "frankenstein."

Show me some hi-rez pics of the top side of each of your SE/30 logic boards and I will give you my honest opinion about which is "the best of the batch." (To do this, I recommend NOT using a flash, and be sure to mount your camera on a tripod. Shoot the board outside if you lack sufficient light indoors, preferably on an overcast day to avoid harsh shadows. Or if you wish to diffuse shadows a bit, put a bright white piece of cardboard opposite the light source. This is how I shot my logic board photos on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=66071596%40N00&q=motherboard)

Frankenstein = Combining the 3 machines into the best, most reliable, quietest machine.

And AWESOME on the the pics, I'll get them up soon, thanks for the willingness to help!!

"Best" will vary from person to person. Mine is almost there. The finishing touch will be 256 grays on the internal CRT.

"Reliable" doesn't always equal "fastest." I had a 40MHz 040 in mine before, but it wasn't as software-compatible as an 030, so I plunked down the cash for a DiiMO 50MHz 030 and have been very satisfied with reliability. You can see that too in my Flickr collection.

"Quiet" means swapping out that stock fan with a 60mm Silenx. I've spoken about that before in other threads on this site.

The finishing touch of course is deyellowing.

One of the boards you don't mail to me - should be the base of your new SE/30. ;]

Really though what I would do is clean the up, look them over for problems, and test them. If all the functionality is there, it is a keeper. The stuff like if it has sockets vs soldered-in, better RAM slots, etc.
