How does Mac System Software 1.0 (.97) text font looks?

I'm trying to emulate System .97 using mini Vmac and I notice the FONT difference when it's run on both emulated 128k Macintosh(64k ROM) and Macintosh Plus(128k ROM).

1. 128k Macintosh

2. Macintosh Plus

As you can see, the font used on the first screenshot is unusual. Is this because of the emulation or screenshot number 1 is what it looks on a real 128k Mac running System .97?

Yes, the "cursive" font is NOT the original System font. That particular image has been tampered with and unfortunately is the one that is most widely available and circulated. The Macintosh Plus has the correct font.

I figured this out a while back, and have since forgotten, but today I'm inclined to say that this may have been done so that the person using it knew immediately that they were on a 64K ROM Mac, or a 128K ROM Mac. This was actually a bit of a problem back in the day since it could affect how you wrote files to disk. Mixing MFS & HFS disks and systems was a big headache ...
