How do I Edit my post?

I recently posted to the trading post and would like to update the original post to indicate items spoken for. I looked and I looked and could not find some sort of edit indicator.

How may I edit my post?

Thank you.

Currently, the edit functionality on the forum is disabled after about fifteen minutes, I believe. However, if everything in your post is spoken for, there is a lock functionality. You can lock your own threads in the Trading Post forum, which although unhelpful for people who are posting thirty to fifty items at once (I've seen it) is very handy if you just wanted to sell one thing, and now want people to stop replying to the thread.

As a correction to Cory's post, the edit limit is currently one hour.

Just a suggestion... don't know if it's possible or not, but would it be possible to allow an individual the ability to indefinitley edit a post just in the Market place? This would allow someone to just keep a running "for sale" thread and prevent a lot of little threads from popping up. This ability could even be granted on a per-thread basis, if the software allows.

It does not appear to be possible in the phpBB3 admin to assign a different post editing time limit to a single board.

It looks like we are able to allow infinite editing of a user's own posts in a single forum, like the Trading Post, and disable all editing in all of the other areas. But that's just with the parts of the ACP I can see. This would mean that once you hit "submit" whatever has been said is permanently said, unless a moderator changes it or you request to have it changed and a moderator does the change.

That said, you still have unlimited ability to proofread, edit and tweak your posts as long as you wish, the time limit only starts AFTER you hit the "post button" on this forum.

Over on Applefritter, it was NEVER possible for a member to edit the initial post of any give thread. They had problems over there, back in the day, with people editing posts so that threads no longer made any sense at all. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they've got an editing time limit too.

A Trading Post listing is a thread in its own right, addenda and retractions are the way to modify offerings over time, IMHO.

Fair enough. I've seen it work well elsewhere, so I thought it was worth mentioning.
