Hitachi Ultrastar Ultra320 73GB SCSI

(Accidentally posted this in the wrong section, was meant to be in the PCI Mac section.)

I'm having serious problems getting my 8500 to recognise this drive.

As I'm not confidant with my SCSI knowledge, hoping someone might be able to help me out.

I'm connecting the drive up, using a 80 to 50 SCSI adapter.

Most of the high capacity SCSI drives dropped support for the older SCSI-1/SCSI-2/FastSCSI buses. I don't trust any drive over 36gb to be detected by a mac that old. Fujitsu was even dropping support when they were still selling 18gb drives.
