Here's one to watch: NIB Quadra 950

here

Every Q950 that I have clapped eyes on before this one has been two-toned. It appears that they were originally just one colour. I guess it helps for the thing to have been in a box for nearly 20 years!

Yea, my AWS95 is one tone (somebody got it NIB that was sitting around unopened for ages, opened it up and kept it a year or two, then I got it). Most of my other 950's are somewhat discolored but not all of them. The front is plastic while the case body is painted, so you get color changes over time.

Wonder how much it goes for, are 950's as popular as IIfx and 840av's these days?

i screwed up and threw a complete working with keys quadra 950 in the garbage, all because it had a crack where the side of the case didnt want to stay on. plus i didnt have any use for a 950 so out the door it went. booo.... Only thing i used it for at the time was a NAT server to get serial port based macs online via ethernet. with IPNetRouter. until it expired. as then, it wasnt freeware as it is now.

I was surprised clicking on the link that the end was only 30 seconds away! Within the last 15 seconds it jumped from $245 to $310, and in the last two seconds to $799.

Too much for me to pay, but probably one of the cheapest new 950s there has been.

That seems like a lot, but then again, it's in good condition and maybe someone out there is like, "Sweet, a replacement for the computer I used in the lab back in the day!" or something.

Best,

John

Wow! 799.00

And to think I paid 6 bucks for my last Q950 at the Dayton Hamfest 3 years ago. It was in decent shape too.

That's impressive still for NIB after all this time however.

well I went to the dayton hamfest this year, and found nothing in the way of old vintage computers, much less apple computers.

But i did manage to get a 500mhz powerbook G4 for $50. he wanted 75 but i didnt want to take that big of a bite considering, no AC adapter or battery so i couldnt test...

Crazy stupid stuff, considering that to make it usable you will still require more RAM, and it doesn't appear to have the HD trays inside?
