Getting the PowerBook 180 online via LocalTalk Bridge

Shareway IP Standard or Professional running on a bridge machine solves these Appletalk problems, though it cannot get anyone 'online' in the usual sense of the word. It also costs serious money....

I gather that a cut-down version of Shareway IP was licensed by Apple and used in OS9 to allow the OS9 machine to accept personal file sharing connections from machines running Appletalk over IP. The full product is much more powerful.

Congratulations? If you don't mind, could you provide some instruction for me? After I plug my ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the SCSI to ethernet adapter, what do I need to do next? Is there a setting I need to change to use the high speed internet? Thanks.

You need to run the Asante EtherTalk Installer, and install the software for the Asante EN/SC. Then you have to go into the TCP/IP control panel (assuming you're using Open Transport), and change the settings under "Alternate Ethernet" to whatever network settings you need to get online.
