Been able to boot the 180c HD !
After disassembly, cleaning, shocking the hd on the sides a bit, repairing the screen bezel, I tried booting from a zip, was working ok, but hd was doing strange noises for some time during boot. Then on another try I booted but the zip was not yet in the zip drive, but the happy Mac appeared !
It wouldn't boot to the desktop at first, saying the system was not compatible with the machine (?), then after booting from a diskette and running Disk first aid, it booted fine
Don't know if it'll last, but happy anyway

I would backup anything you have on that HDD before it goes. Because its gonna go... its probably got a quantum or a conner in it, which again, melted rubber will crash the heads soon enough.
I would think a 180 would have an IBM drive in it? I'm about 95% sure mine does.

1 old router with power brick,
3 appletalk cables with relay plugs,
1 Powerbook modem,
4 appletalk doublers (?),
1 SCSI -> HDI30 ,
1 SCSI -> Cen50,
1 appletalk Y relay (?),
2 stuff-I-don't-know-what-is, some appletalk to phone line me think...

Thanks to Bibilit for pointing that one ( the screen was good after all Louis ).
Another PB180c, for 10 €. Cheap ones are getting rarer around here…
After testing that earlier one with a bad screen (working 10 - 15 mn only) , I wanted one to swap screen , or anyway a working 180c cause these small color screens are niiiiiice .
Was sold as non-booting at all. Turned out to be a dead power brick. Managed to boot it on the HD after a few tries , but still that HD is troublesome. But anyway the screen looks good so far.
And also got a 1To firewire ext HD for my home file server MacMini.
Was sold as a Iomega MiniMax, but in fact wasn't. It's made by a Japanese firm called Princeton :

Funny thing, mine doesn't have any logo or brand marks, just a sr. number. And a 1 To drive, witch is not listed in the Princeton options list...

So, I'm trying to stop buying Powerbooks … trying. But I keep buying accessories.
here's what I got yesterday, complete in box :
It's handy, and goes well in the collection, a VST zip250 PB G3 drive, VST zip100 PB G3, VST zip100 PB 1400, and that last VST zip100 PB 190/5300/3400c/Kanga.
