g5 quad lcs again (what else?)

Hello friends,

i got really lucky and found a quad g5 for cheap.
its my first working water cooled g5 and i really like it so far.

so what to do with the cooling system now? the whole computer is in great condition and temps under load are really good. i have 62 celsius (143F) on all cores under 100% load. (at least in tiger, sorbet leopard it runs a small tad hotter)

should i leave it be? its still 20 year old liquid in there. and i guess the lcs is still pretty full, hence the temps.

i am a bit curious and want to open it up, but it still has the plastic rivet intact.

thanks for your advice

I'm tempted so say if it's working with consistent CPU temps, leave it but check there are no leaks. This involves taking out the LCS and checking for leaks around the blocks and bottom side of the CPU - the damage is very obvious when you see it. Another tell tale sign is leaking on the PSU "felt mat" under the LCS.

I've two Quad G5s in need of an overhaul here and restoring the LCS isn't for the feint of heart especially if components are failing like the pumps or the blocks, radiator are corroded. My dual pump unit is completely stuffed (may convert to air cooling), while the single pump might have some life but the pump has failed not hoping one from the dual set up will save it.
