Congratulations!  That's quite a find, and the main reason why it's always an excellent idea to be a detective as far as pictures go.

I'm guessing all it took was seeing that external port showing for you to pull the trigger?

Yeah, I saw the port and figured it's either ethernet or video, both of which are quite desirable in an SE/30.  Bonus points:  it's a socketed logic board, too!

The time spent during shipping was quite suspenseful-- I kept looking at the auction pictures and examples of XCEED ports to see if I could tell for sure.  The "speckled" texture of the metal had me convinced it was the XCEED, and it is! :beige:

There was no way to tell if it had the neckboard, but I'll tell you I was fully prepared to create my own.  I had amassed all the diagrams, patents, and pictures for the neckboard and wiring harness that gamba had engineered.  Even started looking at circuit board creation.  All in vain, I guess!

I vary rarely crawl ebay, but the link you posted shows a picture of the raster, the jailbar pattern was a dead giveaway it had a micron in it. it doesnt match up with any other SE/30 simasimac.

Keep this in mind.

Congratulations are in order!

As one who would love to have one, I am happy that you have found one.

I'm happy that one who appreciates such a card didn't have to pay almost $2000 for it.

Do take good care of it.

Oh sorry!  Yes, it turned out great.  Grayscale is, well how else to put it... AWESOME!  It's really a dream to have the MacTV, G3 AIO, Macintosh original, and now SE/30 grayscale next to each other on the bench!  I'll post some photos soon.  Now to tackle the next hurdle... an accelerator.  I guess I have a few options.  A socketed Daystar powercache for the SE/30 (since my board is socketed)  would be the best, because it allows for the possibility of ethernet+grayscale+accelerator, but yeah... good luck finding one of those!  More likely will be the somewhat more readily available IIci powercache coupled with a twinspark from artmix.  Probably need to look into beefing up the PS supply on this guy, too.
