fixable or should i just order a replacement pcb now?

Picked up an se/30, was hoping it just needed a recap. nope. Maxell strikes again. Im going to try and fix it, it doesnt look toooooo bad. I mean its already broken I might as well try. Looks like minimum ill be needing to replace my RTC chip. I might even have the right PIC on hand. If the rom card is damaged meh, I wanted a BMOW one anyway.

Clean it up, then make your decision

GENTLY pull out any socketed chips including the CPU and document where each one went (and in what direction!), spray the board down with your favorite motherboard cleaner and let it soak for a while, rinse it under running water in the laundry sink, do that a few times until you're confident enough that agitating the corroded area with a fine bristle brush won't damage any fine-legged chips (not many on the SE/30), then give it another good hit with your cleaner and gently scrub the corroded area. Once clean, place the board on top of a box fan with the airflow blowing upwards until it's perfectly dry. Then do a full visual inspection and see how bad the damage is. Let us know what happens!
