Awwwwww, lucky! I got a 10gig 2G a while back that played stuff fine, but I could never get it to sync with my machines. Then the screen ribbon cable came apart :\

Heh, I was just looking at that photo of the 2G iPod and thought about the very first time I saw an iPod in the flesh. It was a 5GB 2G model, and I remember being amazed at how tiny it was compared to anything I'd seen. I also remember it was insanely expensive at the time...somewhere around AU$800. Funny to think that my 4G iPod is a huge fat slab of a thing by modern standards, but compared to a 2G, its probably pretty slim.
