Okay, with the glory of 1080p redigitized video I want to crack this nut once and for all. We know what just about everything is in the Jurassic Park control room but we could never get a good image of what the white pizza box devices were that are all over the place. Well we got a better idea now.
It's a PLI product. I've heard of them before selling 2.88mb floppy drives for NeXT machines and rebadged SyQuest drives for macs. The camera itself is out of focus because they are highlighting the monitor on the left so the actual product name is unreadable.
It's not a 5.25" SCSI enclosure that I can tell. I can understand two LEDs for power and activity but three? Also, why the strange faceplate? Also, compared to the other enclosures PLI sold their products in this one is a lot bigger and can be seen as such form various angles.
Googling didn't turn up much mainly because a lot of these OEM's were fly-by-night and vanished by the mid 90's because you can only sell generic hardware for so long. I'm curious since PLI is a better known name in the mac world if anyone here can better recognize what it is.
