Durosity’s conquests and collection

It always pains me every time I go to the local recycling centre and see all the stuff being trashed, with no opportunity to collect/take things. I can only assume that tons of good stuff still gets dumped every week.
 
There is a 'reuse' section at my tip but they are very picky about what people leave in there, most of it is just books, I never see electronics there. Most stuff just gets put in the recycle/trash bins which you can't pick from.
 
Yeah it was just listed on eBay, no one else bid. They had piles and piles and piles of newer macs (and other machines) that were all ready for shredding, including some retina iMacs. They do sometimes get older beige macs in so he’s gonna let me know next time he gets anything in. I did say I know a fair few people who may be interested in stuff too, so anything that comes up I’ll let you know!

I went through most of it last night, the majority of the machines actually work, some even fully boot! I really need to find some time to start dismantling these machines and refurbishing them all!
 
Todays haul isn’t actually macs.. I just picked up a large pile of Ikea Algot shelves for free which I’m super chuffed about because it means I can finally finish building the shelves in my garage!

Aw man... take all the time you need man. Mental health is important, keep up that fight! The macs can wait.

Hope you feel better soon, we've all been there. It is good to focus on yourself and give the beige a break now and then.

I know this feeling very well. Stay safe and look after yourself, we'll be here :). Beige is not that important.

Thanks guys! I’ve had a few good days, and actually yesterday was able to get myself down south to swap an SE for a faulty portable with @timoog who was lovely to meet 😊
