Domain problems...

Well, the domain was supposed to be renewed last night... but I guess something went wrong with it. Until we get it sorted, the forums will be up here at 68kmla.com.

Sorry about the inconvenience!

Tom

It didn't really go out for me, but I did notice for several hours there were literally no posts and it seemed like I was the only one on the forums.

Haha, took me long enough to figure this one out, Thanks Coius for letting us know on Troubleshoot Now.

Hope the other domain returns soon!

Yeah, still seeing the parked domain here in Miami, FL. I'm using OpenDNS.com. I just got the idea to try the usual TLDs and see if something came up. :p

On my MacBook Pro I get the parked error but on my G5 the site loaded up just fine every time, without having to change the domain or anything.

Right, somehow the nameservers got changed up when the domain was renewed which is what caused it to show the parking page.

This has now been corrected, so everything should be back to normal when the new DNS addresses propagate -- which should be within 24hrs. I will leave the site up at 68kmla.com for the next day or so then move it back.

Sorry again for the inconvenience!

When the .net was renewed yesterday the nameservers got reset to their default values, and hence no longer pointed at the forum's host. I mapped 68kmla.com over as a temporary measure until we got it sorted and hence the forums have actually been up the whole time!

The nameserver addresses were updated this evening but I'm going to leave the forums up at .com until tomorrow to give them time to propagate.

So my Bookmark for the forum was:

http://68kmla.org/forums

...wich didn't work the last few days.

Now....... it's unchanged, I mean, my bookmark!

But.... the site clearly is on

http://68kmla.com/forums

:b&w:

That's keeping me busy..... [:o)] ]'> It's not nice to put freaky thoughts into harmless forum users, dear Admins!

lol

Yeah, there's a bit of nifty Apache mod_rewire trickery going on to redirect the .net to the .com until the DNS records fully propagate. Once that happens, I'll do the opposite -- so the forums will be at .net and any request to the .com will redirect.
