Disk Images

So, while trying to do this in emulation in GSport, it appears that the file types may be incorrect. I can't open the program because the type is not recognized as a SYS type. Any idea how to correct this?

So I got half-way with this. At the very least, I got the files copied and DSK2File to work. What I did was:

Create a ProDOS .img Disk Copy file on one of my Macs, and transferred it to my MacBook Pro. Using CiderPress, I copied each file from the .dsk image to the .img

image. I then copied the .img back to my other Mac and made a real 800k floppy from it. This preserved the file types and I was able to open DSK2File on the IIe side.

The issue I now have is that using DSK2File, I attempted to make a disk from the image I have (Oregon Trail, if you must know). Once it was done writing the disk, it appears that it somehow screwed up because the disk was unable to boot, and it appears to be empty. Not sure what went wrong, but I’ll try again tonight. I know the image is good because I used it under GSpot without issue.

I had an issue when creating disks with my own setup.

I made two 800k floppies with Ciderpress, one with a couple of files and The DSK2file program, and the other with DSK files only (mainly utilities and games) then copying  the required game or utility to the floppy having DSK2file on it, and booting from this 800k floppy inserted in the LC.

Recently, had some issues as well when 5.25 floppies were not formated properly.

Using Copy II + helped me a lot (first formating the disk, then creating the real floppy)

Update: I took the easy way out. I ordered an Oregon Trail floppy from eBay :P.

i got the programs working as far as making images from disks ok. My question now is: copying copy-protected Apple II disks? I want to back up OT now!
