curious about jlpga powerbooks

while managing to recheck forum again I noticed one of the new additionals to the ebay trading thread was a jlpga powerbook and mm well seeing one of these again made me want to ask an old question I've wondered about if noone minds;

was there an actual purpose to the particular colour selections especially with regarding to green footends (for lack of knowing what to call them now, re at the very rearside ends that is)? or did they just seemingly pick random plastic part and put it into a random dye sample and this was what resulted?

I know my second question maybe sounds a bit too silly to be plausible but heh

I have not the answer, probably randomly picked up.
In my own opinion, pretty ugly

As far as I can tell, the JLPGA logo at that time (and the LPGA logo) were just green and white, so I don't know where the colors would have came from. The colors decently match the current LPGA logo, but that logo wasn't in use until 2007.

Rumor I usually see is that the colors came from the United Colors of Benetton, which was an event sponsor at the time. I don't know if this was ever confirmed though.

thanks for the three replies. at least lucky we never had any apple/clone being sold as barbie pc's or other more ugly ideas (if you don't know what I mean then maybe its better you didn't!)

I have heard many people call the JLPGA the "Benetton Mac", that would make sense I suppose.
