its been great so far with two very small exceptions the monitor is acting odd but it seems a lot have this problem of the usb ports being flaky and the brightness setting is not showing up in the system prefs or when you press the brightness button. and of course the one missing speaker but I will find one soon and fix it. Im going to put this 80gb hd I have in it so I can fit all my music on it. I would like to upgrade the cpu and the display card but we will see I am a bit broke at the moment.
I had a 22" cinema display that was suffering from the same problem as you describe. I opened up the casing and tightened all the internal cable connections. That worked great for about a year and a half until the backlight gave out.
Opening up one of these is pretty straightforward, just make sure you keep track of all the screws. Also don't work on it with power applied. I know this usually goes without saying, but safety is always on my mind even though it does not always appear to be so.
Ill look at it while im in there changing the HD and see if anything is loose. I think it may have been a software update in tiger, it worked on and off then after the updates it would not work at all.
