Converting Macintosh Plus from 110V to 220V

Hi,
I have got a Mac Plus which is 110V rated, as far as I know, the board have space for 220V components which are not installed.
Do you think it is possible to convert the unit to 220V ?

Anything is possible with enough work. However, I think a far better solution would be to either get a converter or a 220v analog board from someone.

There's an "international" board that came in both 110V and 220/230V variants. If that's what you have, in theory it's possible, but I don't know if anyone actually knows how to?

Actually, I don't believe this is possible... not with the 110v only 'board. I've heard some US voltage Pluses did have the "International" 'board. Post a pic of yours and I'm sure others will chime in.

FWIW, I *have* successfully converted a Classic A/B from 220V to 110V. That did require some jumper and capacitor moves. But unless you have the "International" A/B for the Plus, I'm pretty sure you're stuck with 110V...

Yes, the later compacts had boards that could operate as either depending on jumpers or switches. The Plus, however, was a different story.

depending on jumpers or switches
There are no switches on the Classic A/B. Soldered wire "jumpers"/links need to be changed, and one voltage has 2 the other 1 large cap (of different values) - these also need to be changed. I have a usenet post somewhere if anyone is interested.

Thank you so much for the answers. I’m going to open the machine and look at the analog board in the coming days. I’ll keep you informed.

I've definitely seen a whitch somewhere on one of these compacts....I'll have to see where.

I'll have to figure out what the heck I am thinking of. Maybe it was a jumper...maybe it was a brain fart...
