Color Classic Questions

Tempest,

I use that card on a Mac Color Classic and once I have TCP/IP set up, I use it an FTP client (can't recall witch at the moment) to download files/disk images.  That board works well.  I have not tried a direct connection to another Mac so I can't comment on  that.

As long as I can get files to it one way or another I'll be happy.  It's not like I'm going to surf the web on it. :)

I tried. You only do that once and then you never try again because it is slow and the browsers don't support modern standards (as to be expected) :)

7.1 is the OS that the CC came with originally.  You can upgrade to 7.5 but I don't know if there was a full CC specific install for 7.5.  Does anyone else know for sure?

Hmm... I might have to use it then.  I have a 4GB SCSI drive that I was thinking about using.

jag's house has a guide on upgrading 7.1 to be more 7.5-like, and I think there's one on fenestrated.net as well.

Maybe I will stay with 7.1.  Games that seem to require 7.5 also seem to require 640x480 so they won't run on my CC anyway.

New question:  Recommend some Adventure games and RPGs that will run on the Color Classic (i.e. won't run too fast on the 030).  I know Bards Tale runs well (it's painfully slow on a stock 68000).

1) Quest for Glory 1

2) Lucas Arts adventures (Indiana Jones FoA)

3) Escape Velocity 1 (maybe

4) Prince of Persia 1 & 2

5) Warlords

...to name a few

Yep. Connect the Ethernet port on the PowerBook to the Ethernet port on the color classic. I've done it with a regular cable (like the kind that came with my router), though I'm hardly an expert in network hardware.
Anyone know how to make this work.  I installed my Ethernet card and it's saying that I can't use it because there are no Internet Servers available.
