Classic repair

Well here I am looking at this old thread and having the same issue I notice no conclusion. The sound on the internal speaker is a no go. Is there a specific capacitor for the analog board fort? The speaker jack is loud and clear.

i just fixed my classic and classic II's sound, from what i remember (from last week) there were some 1uf, 10uf and some 47uf caps, ya just have to twist them off clean up the pads flux up, and soldier some new ones on.

So sound out the headphone jack still means the motherboard is in question? The speaker is on the analog board. I just don't understand completely I guess. I thought since the headphone jack worked that it was an analog board issue.

if you re-do the caps your sound will start working again. ( on the internal speaker ) headphone and internal speaker are separate sound circuits, this is a common problem with the classic and classic II needing re-cap. if you don't replace them soon, other issues will arise.
