Classic II Logic Board issue

bibilit

I replaced caps in a Classic II logic board a couple of months ago, the Classic II worked ok after that.

Yesterday, the C II refused to boot, the Analog board is Ok and a Logic Board from a Classic works fine.

The C II will display anything from vertical lines to a plain grey screen with no sound nor pointer.

Removing the simm will no change the behaviour.

Can a faulty on-board ram will produce this ?

Did you clean the board after re-capping? Maybe the cap goo (if the old ones leaked) spread farther on the board.

Look for a sheen near where you replaced the caps. Also, more dust will collect on top of the goo, which I have noticed is a telltale sign.

... Warm water with some dish soap and a light toothbrusing won't hurt ...
