Chess client

I finally got around to connecting my SE/30 to my new home WiFi (via a Netgear N300 extender). It went well and I was up and running in no time. Sadly, web browsing is a no-no these days (don't get me wrong; SSL is of course a good thing), but I can still enjoy a blitz game or two on the Internet Chess Club using a 1997 client I found on a dusty FTP archive somewhere. The ICC protocol has not changed, and there is virtually no lag at all. The only fly in the ointment is the fact that the client was clearly designed for monitors with much higher resolution -- probably at least 640x480. On my SE/30, the first/last rank of the chess board gets cut off, as you can see on the enclosed screenshot.

My question is: Would it be possible for someone with very little programming experience to hack the client with Resedit to remove unnecessary blank space at the top of the board window, so that it would fit on the screen?

Probably, if the window is a DLOG resource, and not hard-coded in the program source (which even if it was, you could still change, but you'd need more programming experience).
