Caps for a Classic

I have been home for a couple of days after a surgery, so have had time to tinker with most of my fleet.

Most of them are working great, the last one on my list was the Classic, probably have not been switched on for years (mainly because it was packed properly)

I had a doubt concerning the Classic (as this was the one which triggered my collection) so probably a battery was still connected.

I removed the rear casing and the Logic Board, and the battery was there...fortunately the battery was not one of those red ones, and was simply flat.

The logic board was affected by leaking caps, so started removing those and the ones from a second LB i had as a spare.

Removing and replacing caps was pretty easy (now that i am used to it)

In the end i have two clean boards to play with (well the second one is still drying after a good wash)

The most rewarding process was this:

The Hard drive is still ok, i even found an old Word file i made in 2007 with the words "Wonderful little machine" on it... still is today.
