Looking for an opinion or maybe someone's tried this. If I transfer the cache chips from a 466 DA CPU card to a card from a tray loading iMac, will it show up as 1mb, 512k or not at all

As long as the chips have the same pinout i see no reason it shouldn't work. I was planning on putting bigger chips on my iMac's card but never got around to it as I killed the card

I am about to try that on a 733MHz/1MB CPU from a QS and will replace the 2*512k chips with 2*1MB from an old XServe CPU card.

The 7450 should support 1MB as well as 2MB external L3 cache so it should theoretically work.

The 750 on your iMac board theoretically supports 1MB so I would say go ahead and try it.
