BlueSCSI CD switcher

Do you need to have a CD mounted initially for this to work? Does it need to be the same ID as the folder? This is on System 7.6.1. Thanks

The BlueSCSI CD switcher is not for real CD-roms, but for CD-rom files that are on the CD-card. With this programm, you can switch between those files that it looks like you change a CD-rom. You put these files in the folder in the root of the SD-card with the name, for example, CD4. Meaning this folder represent SCSI ID 4. When you want to connect a real CD-rom player, it should have another SCSI-ID then ID-4, or any other SCSI-ID already used on the SD-card from the BlueSCSI.

I figured it out, it looks like it needed a restart of the BlueSCSI and for it to be powered by the computer not external power

If you're removing the SD card from the bluescsi while it's on, putting more CD images on the SD card, and putting the SD card back into the BlueSCSI, yeah you'd need to reset the bluescsi with the reset button on the Pico since when the BlueSCSI boots up is when it looks for images. (If you're using the BlueSCSI as a hard drive emulator as well, probably shouldn't remove the SD card while running, not sure about if there's a particular reason not to if you're using it just for CDs)

It shouldn't matter what the power source of the BlueSCSI is though, USB or termination power

OK that explains it, I think I'll just leave it on termination power as that's all I'm really using it for and I won't need another power cable for regular use

Yeah, the main reason to use the external power is if your machine does not support termination power(which isn't too many, Mac Plus without a mod, the IISI, and I think like, some adapters for Powerbooks to connect a DB25 to the powerbook external SCSI Connector)
