Best way to get scratches out of a Compact case ?

Anybody ever wetsanded or used steelwool on an SE/30 case ? I've got some scratches I'd like to remove. Is it worth it?

What's worse: scratches or a smooth, untextured spot on the case?

i usually just clean the case with cleanser and one of those kitchen scrubbers (stainless and teflon safe)once its clean the scratch is less noticeable.

Use Novus 1 2 and 3 and very fine sandpaper. 2000 to 3000 grit. Thats how.

People in the TV/Radio collection department use this to get scratches out of Bakelite, and clear escutcheon plastic. I am unsure what this will do to texture, as long as the scratch isnt deeper than the texture level.
