I would almost recommend you buy a Bernoulli 150 because it's compatible with a lot more cartridges. The 44 will only work wiht the 44mb cartridges. They don't cost that much more on ebay.

THX, I've wanted one since before the '88s ever came out. I'm glad it's an internal unit, I'm trying to assemble the Tower of Babel™ to sit next to the IIfx.

I wanted an internal, but I couldn't pass up this 1GB Jaz Drive. Do they all use the same AC adapters as Zips?

I think it's fitting that iomega wound up owning much of what was left of SyQuest after they finally chewed it up and spit it out. SyQuest's later products were nastier than the worst of the Zip drives.

I'll probably wind up with a SyQuest drive as well, I think I've still got a cartridge for one (270MB?) somewhere with a drum scan file on it from back in the day. Those and the earlier drives from SyQuest were pretty good, but how cool is a drive that takes advantage of the Bernoulli effect!?! [] ]'>

It's actually very easy to do. All it is really is an internal unit installed into a nice looking case with an external interface built in. Just remove the drive from its case, and you have an internal unit (the front panel might need some modifications for it to look right, though).
I really like Jaz drives. I think they're a magnificent upgrade from Zip drives (at least in terms of storage space), and disks are still relatively cheap.

Thanks for that bit of info about the Jaz! :approve: The internals seem to have custom 5.25" bezels and carriages, I assume it's because of the odd media size?

Sweet score, I have one of those drives sitting under my SE, and a couple cartridges somewhere. I also recently scored an external 3.5" Syquest, 135MB drive with one cartridge that I need to test.

ISTR it is the same adapter as the early Zip-CD drives (Iomega external CD-RW).

I also got a very nice Syquest drive with enclosure a while back, 'peel this off before use'-sticker still on it. Came with 10 + 1 NEW never inserted Cardriges and the shipping box of the 10 cardriges even has the Syquest name on it.
