Well, I have changed default laptops. I recently acquired a Dell Latitude c610, with a screen and top plastic from an inspiron 4100. I have since put an internal wireless, 60gb HD, and 1gb of ram in it. This thing flies!!!! Ive also got 2 batteries and a DVD burner for it. I also built a P4 system with 1gb of PC3200 DDR, 2.6ghz P4 with Hyperthreading, Dual Layer DVD burner, TV Tuner, SB Live!, media reader, and a 256mb nVidia GeForce 5700FX. I also splurged and got a set of decent altec lansing speakers with nice base for $25 from wal mart. all in all they are both nice systems. I'm typing this on the dell!
