Apple IIe

When I turn mine on, it makes no difference if cards are installed or not.  It still comes up with 'Apple //e' up the top.

If I have a Disk ][ connected, it makes a 'brrrr' noise that is sort of cool, as it tries to read a disk.

The issue I am having, is, with the card installed it won't boot to a prompt. It will display "Apple //e" but not cursor/prompt. If I remove the card, it will boot to a prompt and allow user input.

... If you don't have any disk drives, why do you care if the disk controller is installed?

(Or: does it stop hanging and give you a prompt if you hit... I forget if it's "Reset" by itself or "Ctrl+Reset". Hanging trying to boot is to my knowledge normal behavior for an Apple II with a disk controller in slot 6.)

Cool, now I need to see if my external drive will work with this card, or not.

This is my IIc Plus, will the Apple drive on top work with this card?

lol techknight.

Sounds good! Need to pull out some of the Apple II software I have and do some testing for functionality of everything. Need to brush up on my Apple Basic!

I went to the electronics recycler yesterday and found an Amdek video300 monitor sitting on the clearance shelf. When I asked how much they said it was five bucks. So we plugged it in to ensure it powered on , and it did! The kid (17 years old) at the countersaid that since it showed no other signs of life he would let it go for $2! heck I would have given him the five for it!

Got home and cleaned off the dust, and it works great, nice and bright!

I also picked up another 320gb drive for my G5 and six 1gb sticks of pc3200 for it to max out the memory, but for some reason it is reading two of them as 512mb so it's up to 7gb at the moment.
