I know there was something that pre-dated Disk Copy 4.2. It was a utility for early Macs for disk copying. I'm tempted to say it was the original "Disk Copy" but I don't know if that's the name for sure. I know I've seen it and it does indeed exist, but the recollection is vague, years ago. Sorry I can't remember more.
It's a start, maybe someone else will know. I've set up a Macintosh 512k with SCSI and a SCSI2SD card. I'd like to load up a bunch of disk images on it so the person that buys it can write the images to floppy.
There're a few games that work with System 3 (Dark Castle & Beyond Dark Castle), and a few games that work with System 5 (Beyond Dark Castle & Crystal Quest, but NOT the original Dark Castle.)
I could get Task Maker to work on either, but works if I boot from floppy.
Oh, CPS. Hmm. I'd need to make new images of all the software, but unless the person also buys a FloppyEmu (which would be an excellent idea anyway), that's probably the only option.
I was looking for a utility that I can run on a Macintosh 512k that will write the images back to floppy. I think Copy II Hard Disk is one of the only apps that can do it. I seem to recall some version of Disk Copy that ran on an older Mac (it used the video buffer because there wasn't enough RAM.)
Oh, the original Disk Copy. It's on one of the older System Utility disks (I think it was called 128k Disk Copy.) It did floppy to floppy copying, not disk images. I'll have to use Copy II Hard Disk. At least, I'll give it a try.
