Any ideas? SE/30 with squares

one of the caps have rotten the traces in the area of UE8 as well as the muxes.
Well the "right thing" to do is to recap ALL the caps on the logic board... SMD's and the two axials.. And you really should do the power supply and analog board.. Doing the power supply is a pain... the analog board not so bad.. and of course check solder connections for cracking on the analog board.. techknight is probably right about the UE8.. the cap right there loves to screw with UE8... I don't always do all my SE/30 power supplies and analog boards.. I've got quite a few.. My really nice condition SE/30's I do everything.. I expect to have these machines for a long time.. and who know's on how my vision will be then and shaky soldering skills... lol
Cleaning the board is also "recommended" to remove the electrolytic residue that has leaked... I use 91% rubbing alcohol in my bathtub.. (rinsed and scrubbed with a new toothbrush)

Thanks. I'm in The Netherlands. I already found somebody who can do this but we only talked about caps on the logic board and the analog board. Not the SMD's. That was something between 100 euro and 150 euro. But if he also has to exchange the SMD's I think it will be more of course. I will think about it... It's a lot of money for a toy. I haven't even begun on the floppy drive and the hard drive. No idea how in what condition they are.
I've cleaned the motherboard with water and just a drop of ammonia. It truly is in great condition. Battery hasn't leaked. It's a PNY, not a Maxell.

get that battery out of there and keep it out. It only holds the date , time and a few settings like volume. Not worth the risk of destroying the machine. I dont have any batteries in any of my macs and i have about 50 of them.

The messed up screen is usually ue8. Get a meter and meter out the leg of each pin to the first via along the corresponding trace to see if you have good connection. If they all look good try the chips either side.

Though recapping everything is always good, with the SE/30 the most urgent is to change the SMD electrolytic caps on the logic board. That is certainly the source of your problem.
The thru-hole caps on the analog board and PSU tend to last a little longer, so if you're not having problems you can realistically leave it alone for now.
It's only the electrolytic caps that need replacing; the smaller ceramic caps generally don't fail.

But it is a starting point.
If things are not working after a recap I then usually go for all the muxes in the video circuit next to UE8 (which often but not always is the source of video issues - I just had a board with UE8 beeing totally fine but one of the others failed) I desolder them all as they usually have goo stuck beneath them that you won't get off easily.
I then test the muxes in a chip tester to verify them and put them back on if they are good.

100-150 EUR for recapping SE/30 is rip off. Last time I paid 10 EUR in my local repair shop, a few times done it myself 
BTW I had the same symptom in one of my SE/30s and had to run a wire underneath the motherboard. 5 minute job. Need to find a photo.

Well yeah the price seems to be relative. An equivalent of 10-20 EUR is a typical price for recapping old computers (like Amiga/Macintosh) in my country. I am talking about small repair shops and forum users doing it in their spare time.
