Another Macintosh Portable not charging thread!

Sorry I know this is like beating a dead horse, but I recently picked up a regular Mac Portable for a few bucks at a computer recycle shop. It's in quite good condition minus being a little cracked on the battery compartment casing.

So far I've: recapped the entire board, replaced the battery with this one

https://www.amazon.com/Power-Sonic-PSG-650-Sealed-Lead-Acid/dp/B00BHM8SWW/ref=sr_1_1?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1473312325&sr=8-1&keywords=PSG-650

(hooked it up via 2 cables that I connected directly to the connections on the back of the battery holder), replaced the 9V battery and bought a proper mac portable power supply. With the 9V and the new battery in, the system will start up to a sad mac face and then die, however if I plug the power supply in, it will start just fine. (normal 7.5v 1.5a)

I checked the battery and it's a 6.3V. However I checked the power on the terminals going to the battery and only 1.4v was going in. Checked the power supply  and it's a nice 7.5V. Is there anything I should start looking for? Thanks!

Check your wires/connections, also there is an interlock switch if the battery cover is not in place, you wont get battery voltage to the portable.

Also, if all that checks out OK, then the Hybrid is likely bad.

Wow looks like that was it, never knew there was a interlock switch. I feel like an idiot....thanks!
