After the usual motherboard combo dishwasher-recap, along with full recapping of the analog board, the thing kept showing horizontal white and black stripes.
To make it brief: the ROM chip that I had removed for the cleaning, did not make full contact. I had to bend the pins towards the inner part of the ROM slot.
The Classic could then boot, but after 10’, smell of burning circuits and dark screen.
I tought I had toasted the analog board, while, after a careful inspection I noticed that the SMC in C10 was burnt. I replaced it from a donor logic board, carefully cleaned the logic board with isopropyl alcohol and... bing!
Tested the boards with an IR camera: fine, voltage fine.
Wonder why the C10 got shorted.
