So, this most recent weekend was the Baltimore Area Hamfest, and, as usual there were some awesome "recently vintaged" computing finds, as long as you were looking for the 95-2002 era.

I think my favorite find was a complete Xybernaut MA IV system with wearable touchscreen, the headmounted display, and augmented-reality camera system.

everything works perfectly with the exception of a little water vapor that's accumulated in the touchscreen overlay for the arm display.

I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of 90's uber-dork while wearing this around, either that or a need to hack the planet.

* wthww notes this particular conquest is not valid unless pics of said device are shown on the owner

i hate you all.... fine i'll get a pic tonight with my fatass using it

haha, that reminds of of some crazy guy in the anime "Lain" went down the street with trying to become one of the hottest hackers on the net. Just don't end up looking a dip***t with it if you decide to go down the street like that ;)

I would suggest scaring the neighbors or people by walking around with a HUGE Brick of a cellphone and start uttering things like "Ordering Airstrikes" or "Aim the cannons .7 deg west"

Then again... maybe not :p

DO WANT

Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay? They are like $300 on eBay, without the AR camera :( . I *always* thought these were cool.

i may be selling the whole setup anyway, its awesome, but i'd rather invest in a more modern hmd solution to use with my umpc
