Alternative cases for 475

I don’t want to assume that any LC case would house a 475. I’m currently using an LCIII but the tabs are broken, at some point I wouldn’t mind either fixing or replacing it. I’m not above sticking it in an original LC case if it would fit.

Is any case viable or did the design change too much?

There's two different LC cases - one has a plastic assembly for the fan and the speaker, and the other the speaker and fan clipping in separately. The one with the plastic assembly has the case opening for the fan placed farther back which means the LC475 board would oartially block it, and the fan can't snap in, so for these types of LC cases the LC475 board is not a drop in replacement. However, the other LC board with separate speaker and fan attachments works great!

The LCII I have works great, just dropped right in. I don't have any LCIIIs to check unfortunately.

Also note that if you are reusing the PSU, it connects slightly differently.

Excellent breakdown. I’ll keep an eye out for a better III or II case as the 475 themselves are harder to come by. Though I imagine the performas 400+ are the same as the LCII on up, if I were to bother I’d prefer the LC silkscreening rather than Performa.

But either way now I know there are options, thank you!
