Adobe ReadyPress

Anyone have this little gem of software? I just inherited an HP DesignJet ColorPro GA, and it needs this software under os 8 or 9 to work. I can't seem to find it to save my life though.

I've never heard of this software, though searching Google it seems as though it's actually called PressReady, if that helps anyone locate it.

Yes, it appears the word of mouth technique from the source I got it from was a bit off in the dyslexic world.

I have not fired up any software dealing with tracking such things down in quite some time, I may have to give that a shot.

I worked at Adobe for 9 years and helped develop PressReady. You may still be able to order it directly from Adobe, or from HP, but make sure you get the specific version that was made for your printer.

That said, if you simply get Acrobat and print your documents to PDF, then print the PDF to your printer using Acrobat or Reader, you'll get pretty much the exact same results.

Which is a big reason why PressReady and similar PostScript Interpreter software pretty much dried up and disappeared.

In the interests of 68K compatibility, even Acrobat 3.0.x was pretty good at this.
