WGS 95 has 48 RAM, Q950 has PPC upgrade 601-100 MHz, full 256 RAM, the other two didn't boot, one had sad bong and other probably PSU problem.

The Thunder II card with the dsps are very nice in this class of machine as well.
With 256megs of ram I bet it takes FOREVER to startup during that memory check. Mine sure does. Anyone know if that skip memory check trick works on a Q950???

- @Bunsen: these Quadras were used in some graphic studio ... I paid for each 10 EUR ...

- @Unknown_K: on he back of WGS it is written Quadra 950 and on the motherboard too, so I guess it was just the front plate that makes it WGS, it also didn't come with PDS SCSI card ... but I recently got one and will put it in the place.
I will try that cache card, I suspected it could not be a cpu ...
There is one quadra with MicroNet sticker, I wonder what that is? Any clue?

Micronet made removable drives for mac and other companies. I have one of the Micronet bezels with the 5 LEDs that fits a 950 drive bay (you remove the plastic bit and put a LED in there and then connect it to a hard drive). You also seem to have some micronet mounting hardware (they are aluminum instead of steel like the Apple ones).- @Bunsen: these Quadras were used in some graphic studio ... Somebody stuck a WGS95 grill on a normal 950 machine.
Damn those are nice. It´s quite hard to find those 9xx machines over here in .eu if you don´t want to pay a truckload of €€€.
40€ for those four boxes... that´s what I paid for my single WGS95. Not sure if mine says WGS on the back and on the mobo. It didn´t come with the WGS card but stuffed with Image accelerators and display cards so seems it had been used as a workstation instead of a server.

Not to my knowledge. I believe that to turn off the Memory Check (pressing some key combination when opening the Memory Control Panel - I forget the details) begins with MacOS 8.6 or thereabouts, which makes sense, as the standard memory check only became an irritation in the era of cheap memory. You have to remember that even 604e machines like the 7300 sold with a tiny RAM complement of only 32MB, and that such machines were considered functional at that.
I have two Q950s, one of which I have converted to an AWS95, complete with the AWS95 PDS card. I'd love to have four.

Great conquest - one of, if not the greatest 68K desktop made - and four of 'em at once! I'd be feeling pretty pleased with myself. No doubt you'll be able to hobble together one "ultimate" 950 (256MB, graphics cards, drive sleds, WGS95 board, best condition casing) and go from there.

Actually, my two are serving as "legs" for a table with more Quadras on top: thereby Quadra 950s become space savers/ storage solutions. If I had four I could have a rack.
On a slightly different note, it appears that there are six keys that came with those four 950s. You could sell a key every month or two on eBay for 5 or 6 Euros and recoup much of what was spent by that exercise alone. You could likely get that price even on here, as Q950 keys have a nasty tendency to go walkies.
The five drive shelves are also scarce as hens' teeth and would sell for a fair sum if you had a couple of spares.
Quadra 950 and WGS 95 actually share the same ID so in System 7 About Box both are indetified as Quadra 950 ...
