What i am saying tis, there might possibly be a panel that is 15in and sxga that is compatible with the interface on a g4 right? would anything preclude that?
I am just curious as I have a 15in dell laptop screen. I don't feel like buying a bigger screen for it, as it would require more effort than a slight chance of this other one working. If I matched the panel brand and era within a year or so, what are the odds that it would just work? I may just...
I am thinking that if I can talk my mother into it, I am going to try to get her iMac up to 1280x1024. Anyone think this is possible?. GF4 can surely push it, do you think if I found a screen with the same connector it would "just work?" Upgrade the ram on it, and it shall be cruising the tubes...
I looked a little for that upgrade. I couldn't find it. Anyone want to point me toward it. I have heard rumor of it for a while. I remember doing a bit more research on it a long time ago, but could use a refresh.
Thought I might post the machine I have the parts, but not the time to build -
CPU - 900 MHz Powerlogix CPU - We were going to try to overclock this to 1000
MB- RV 2 I believe. I don't know which ROM
RAM - 768 PC 133
HD - 20 gig 10,000 RPM SCSI - on Adaptec Scsi card
Vid - Rage 128 16MB...
I can get up to 1280x1024. That works fine, but looks weird on my screen, since it is stretched out. No other widescreen resolutions show up in the resolution list. Does os 9 support widescreen?
Has anyone gotten Sheepshaver to go into 1680x1050 on their Intel Mac? I put it in the gui settings, and boot up into OS 9, but I get a bunch of purple and cyan lines throughout my gfx. I would love to be able to pretend that I have an actual os 9 machine hooked up to my monitor with the...
I wonder if you could (i know you guys will hate this) super glue the tabs, then use conductive paint to connect the tabs? so no soldering or spot welding needed?
I know this probably already exists. Going to do it anyway. Post any you have tested. Be sure to include any setting from default they required to get them working. If you have any requests, please post them. All these were tested in SS w/ version 9.0.4, unless otherwise noted.

it would also be pulling dust though... which is problematic. Could try something with a closed container, a wet filter, and a fan. Have ports with gloves fitted in them. Like the thinks they keep premature babies in.
I heard someone made a clean room out of his bathroom, something about the steam weighing down all the dust. I doubt the moisture would be good for the drive, but might want to read more into it. Especially if you need the drive. Those old drives are getting hard to come by.
I personally recommend buying yourself an external CD ROM , get any minidock with scsi, that way, you can burn stuff to CD and transfer it that way to get started.
Ah a man after my own heart; I despise optical media. Personally, I format it using os X and install os 9 drivers, up to a certain point, there was nothing in place to stop you from copying cds to hds and booting them. Do that, then boot the hd, and install to another.
PM me if you have any...
