Did someone order pizza? Because its pizza time.
All 3 of the 6100s are battery damaged, and im hoping for all of your expert opinions on damage assessment. The 610s I have which is also 3 all have good boards. Perhaps just luck. I will be opening these all up and taking pictures tonight...
I don't know where to look for that houdini card you were talking about kenny, i opened it up and just seen the drives and all the slots were empty. sony 3.5 and an apple hd
I grabbed one of the quadra 610s a bit ago im going to go through it and post some pictures. But I did find that one dos compatible 6100 you seen. It was printed on it in place of where it says power pc on the other ones, so it threw me off. The 610s all have a "sticker", so i didn't notice it...
The 61s that i have both quadra and 6100, those plastic clips on the top back of the case to open it are so so fragile i broke a couple of them being gentle, the plastic is absolutely brittle as can be, like my lc 575, but worse i think somehow
Yeah i just came back from there now and there were 3 6100s, 2 had stickers one said works great the other said parts bad hd. I already opened them up as they were battery bombed and no cards in any of the 3. I'll look at the picture
They both have no cards i am not familiar with the l2 cache simm how would i check for that? The 80 is physically in a little better condition so i was thinking of keeping that one of the 2, if they were basically the same machine.
So I have a 7100/80 and a 7100/66 are there any differences between them aside from processor speed? Wondering if i should keep one or both.
Going to open those ones up next probably tomorrow they are at my other place and i am BEAT today
I like this one alot might be my favorite. Alot of the PC cases were in rough shape or missing a cover or rusty/dented. This one is nice.
Its a ZEOS Pantera, I believe it a Pentium 1. I am not certain what speed but the wiki says they ranged from 66 to 233 mhz. So somewhere in there. They were...
This next one is an unbranded so it might have been a home build from the 90s. It just has a Pentium III badge on the front thats it. The board is an Asus and the PSU is an Enlight, on the back of the case a sticker says 450mhz. Thats all I know about it thus far. Seems to be some generic...
Got home today at 4 so wanted to spend the rest of the day going through some of the PCs. I grabbed three to start with, with towers i thought were nice.
This is the 1st one. The oldest one. I really like this little micro case I think its sharp looking. This one is a 386 and looks to be in...
I found a charger for the ol' pentium 3 thinkpad. She fired right up. Had a password to login so i did a system recovery with a full disk format and here we are running a fresh install of Windows 98 SE. It sounds good and is snappier than I expected. 600mhz P3 with 192mb ram. ATI graphics...
Thanks for reminding me yes all of them had that sticker on them. I also noticed 1 or 2 of the sparcstations had had some sort of cards in the top slot that the others didnt, I did not open them up yet. Those were in the larger body IPC style ones. I don't believe you can tell whats in the pizza...
Hello, whats up everyone? Its been a busy week at work, haven't had any time to do anything. There is alot to do still I havent gotten to the SPARCstations yet I counted 26 in total I believe 6 are SPARC 10s, and there are another 5 that are 1, 1+, or 2, these are the pizza box style. Then there...
This one looks slick
YIHUA 948-II
https://www.ebay.com/itm/385027125291 seems to be selling well too.
But I found the updated Hakka in a gray instead of that ugly ass blue purple color https://www.ebay.com/itm/336140635258
I had a relaxing labor day weekend didn't get anything productive done just alot of empty cans and bottles, after work tomorrow ill start tearing into some more shit :D
I definitely seems like a good deal price wise which scares me. I am liking that Hakko one the best so far. But I like the Metcal that obselete recommended a page back, but that one seems real high end for a beginner and the price is quite a bit more, just for the used box its 150+ then you need...
I am hoping a couple more people come with recommendations for a soldering kit/station/setup. I appreciation the couple people who gave their opinions so far, and im sure many more people viewing the thread will also appreciate it. Please share your advice and wisdom in this subject if you are able.
