So locally this came up. It is an original 128k that was supposedly upgraded to a 512k. It has original logic and analog. I replaced rifa and reflowed all the bad solder joints. It also came with some nice accessories and original power cord. Was even the original owner. Too bad no original box etc.
So i had a friend who had spare lc 575 analog boards. We tried everything to get his original color classic board working but nope, just didn’t want to play nice. So we did the Japanese mod and converted the lc 575 to work in a color classic. Also, the color classic is now booting natively into...
Have another powerbook 100. I noticed the screen flickers more than another one i have. I can adjust contrast but not brightness. I took display off and put on another powerbook 100 and it works properly. So something on logic board is doing that? Anyone have an idea of where to look? The two...
So after a few boondoggles i was able to purchase a 2300c along with a 280 somewhat local to me for a half decent price. Recapped it on weekend and all is good:) So now have a 2300c, 2400c, 1400c, 5300c, 280c, 270c, and a converted 190cs to a 190c now.
So picked up this 1400. Was basically destroyed by the removable battery. Surprise #1. Was kind of pissed as the listing said untested but it came with missing screws and was obviously opened. So didn’t do much with it until today. I decided to pull it all apart and see if i could clean logic...
So this duo is really being a pain. Now the scren does this. Removed new caps and cleaned but still the same. Is it possible the lcd cable or the lcd just wants to die?
So, my first foray into these monitors was a pain but got it working. This second one was partially recapped but me thinking i should finish it was a mistake so far. It turns on, is recognized under monitors and displays a white screen. Brightness and contrast dont change anything. Any ideas...
recapped a working 12” apple rgb color monitor. Pretty straightforward. Now i have a small band so i guess vertical collapse? Any idea what and where to check? I wonder is any of my new caps are an issue?
So grabbed 4 7100 boards online hoping to make a few good ones. Nope, one board works, rest turn on but no chime or anything else. Processors do not looked cracked or anything. Any idea? Or just recycle them?
Recapped and rethermal pasted the working one and have it back in a machine now.
Recapped a barn find iisi and it came back pretty good so far. It chimes, boots, passes all tests i have tried on it. Only thing is i have 3 different nubus Ethernet adapters that are known good because i have another iisi to try on. When i stick any one of them in the nubus slot on this machine...
I have an applevision 17” that was given to me. It works, but the bottom of the screen can sometimes get lines and sometimes whole screen seems to jiggle or something. Hard to capture it with video. Is a total recap and reflow of flyback and yoke board recommended? Hate to pump a lot money and...
So my unicorn 540 was good for a long long time. I turned it on and forgot for hours today that it was on. Came back, and notice it looked like a little tunnel vision starting. Weird that one little area on side but corners werent bad. I shut it off for a few hours and now looks good again but...
I recapped my 13” high res monitors a long while back as well as my lc series computers (lc, lc2, lc 3 etc) the lc 3 works perfectly with the monitor but the lc and lcii dont show anything. They work fine with my 14” apple color display in other room. Why not with the high res?
So another 7100, another problem. This board worked before recap. I put organic polymer caps on it, and repasted cpu. I just did the same thing to a 6100/66 bought in the same purchase and it works perfectly. I have tried different psu and no difference, just dead. Any idea on this one? These...
I took off some ram chips and put on an expansion board. One works fine, the other one is giving me grief. See attached video. Do ram chips have to be a certain direction like the writing on the top? Sorry if dumb question but I can’t think of anything else? Will attach picture of both sides...
Ok, so I have this Mac plus. I have like 4 external hard drives that all work. One is an ultra 45. I can’t seem to copy anything to it as it is “write protected”. Is this software or something on the drive itself?? Also, this system on this drive is system 6.1. It has a nifty little screen saver...
So, just got this. Recapped the display and logic. Everything seems to work as it should except the reset button doesnt work. The programmer one does. So if I turn it on with keyboard and then hit both buttons i just get the sad mac chime. So does the capacitor affect the reset button right there?
So just in case anyone has this card and wants to recap it. My cap’s basically came off with little effort. Caps are 1 22uf 35v, 1 220uf 35v, 6 10uf 16, 1 100uf 6.3v, and 12 47uf 16.
