    My Power Mac G3 Project

Today I carried out some tests on the Sonnet upgraded G3 B&W and have come to some interesting conclusions, which I'll share later! (It's a significant upgrade in some ways, but not so significant in others!)

Any suggestions on IDE to SATA adapters for a g4 MDD?

Does the system simply not detect the drives or are you not able to partition them? The reason why I ask is because I had to make use of the disk utility on the OSX install CD to get my SSD's partitioned on the SONNET TEMPO SATA PCI card in my G3. They simply did not want to be partitioned by...

Any suggestions on IDE to SATA adapters for a g4 MDD?

You'll need such an adapter to get those drives working: I was originally thinking of using such a setup in my QuickSilver and MDD machines, but now I think that the Startech solution coupled to a standard SSD's a better idea!

    My Power Mac G3 Project

Hi Jenna! :) The Sonnet Tempo SATA PCI's pretty hidden in there, but it is there! I wouldn't mind fitting one of these beasts as well: Giving the machine ATA 133, two USB 2.0 ports as well as two extra FireWire 400 ports!!!

Any suggestions on IDE to SATA adapters for a g4 MDD?

The Startech 40-Pin IDE to SATA Adapter It uses a Marvel controller, so it's a good product!

    My Power Mac G3 Project

    > The firmware update checksums match those of my dumped B&W G3 ROM. Thanks for confirming that my firmware is correct! > I have a Griffin gPort which connects to the internal modem port to add an external serial port which I use for Open Firmware debugging. I purposely purchased and fitted...

My Upgraded Power Mac G4 Digital Audio

Because the Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition isn't being adequately utilised by this CPU I do plan to swap this card out with an Nvidia 4600ti Mac Edition in the future and place the 9800 Pro into my QuickSilver. In this case I'll try fitting a 9200 LE (I'll have to purchase another one) in the...

    My Power Mac G3 Project

My Power Mac G3 arrived as a pretty good example of the machine. Like with virtually every other machine I've ever bought, I will still have to import a few parts to get it to a "perfect" status, but it certainly is a good start though! This is how it initially looked on the inside...
